first endiscopy and sigmoid todays results were a bit unconclusive.....

ok well the good news for all the people waiting for it too get done is it is not as bad as you think. I can honestly not remember getting it done and when i got out asked if i had the camera down my throat and i had so there you go. Well what they said to me is that my stomach was full of food so they could not see my lining and that next time i will need to fast for 24 hours before hand.....said it could be ulcer related or diabetes. The one that worried me was that my bowels were inflammed i slightly remembered looking at the screen and seeing a large red raised lumpy bit. She said she took a biopsy and that was that. Does an inflammed bowel necessarily mean crohns or ulcerative colitus? would they no from looking at the screen it was and would have they told me today? or is it just IBS how can you tell? thanks

Hi star girl thank you for replying i never got any sort of feedback on paper thats what really confussed me althought she said i will need to come back to get my stomach looked at and will send out another appointment i dont no if she means my bowels too thanks x

Hi Shelley, in my non-professional opinion visible inflammation does indicate some kind of issue, this would not occur with IBS. Hopefully with the biopsy they can pinpoint a diagnosis for you and get you started on some treatment to feel better ;)

Did you get a paper report after your scopes (here in the UK we get one to give to our GP), and if so was there anything on there about what you saw?

I expect they didn't say anything because they are either not sure of the cause or want to wait for the biopsy to confirm their suspicions.
