First flare up!?!

first flare up!?!

So its almost been a year since daisha was dx & hasn't really had any major problems since.. Now for the past few days she hasn't been feeling well complaining of stomach pain, sore throat, mouth sores & I can jus notice lack of energy. I've been speaking w dr over past week n just found out she has autoimmune hepatitis (which I only found out cuz dr said this might be symptoms of her autoimmune hepatitis Which I never was told she had been dx with) but anyways daisha went from eating little to not eating. Now bloody stools & diarrea n lots of belly pain dr think she's having flare up. Just arrived, hoping we don't have to stay the night. I'm a nervous wreck!

Bloody diarrhea? I'd say she's definitely having a flare. How old is she? What meds is she on?

She's 13yrs old & takes 6mp. I'm at hospital now & she's def having flare up. Dr says its mild but she has thrush, possible fistula & pnuemonia.

Oh sorry Vanessa! I know as parents we're always waiting for the other shoe to drop, but it's never gonna be easy when it does. I hope they can get her feeling better soon! How long has she been on 6mp??

Thanks she's been on 6mp since diagnosed about a year ago & had been doing so good. I really went into panic when I saw bloody stool & I kno most go thru that but she's never had that before. & possible fistulas, I've read about others but have no idea about them..

Oh my, I'm so sorry to hear about Daisha, poor love and what a nerve wracking time for you!

How are things going hun? It sounds like she has a few things going on, it's no wonder she feels so awful and doesn't want to eat.

I hope they get things under control quickly and Daisha has some lasting relief.

Thinking about you guys and all you are going through. We'll be here waiting when you get a chance to update.

Were home now, no pnemonia its her asthma acting up. Also having flare up so started back on prednisone :| not happy about that but I guess I should be thankful its a mild one.. She hasn't had anymore bloody stools since & eating a little better but still has lots of belly pain. Also has thrush so now she's taking meds for that too so now its pred, 6mp, flagyl, tylenol w codeine, regular tyleno, ibuprofenl& albuterol pump. Daishas scheduled for a mri on tues to check for fistula. All I want is for her to feel better. Thanks all for the good wishes!

It's good to hear there is no pneumonia.

I hear you about the Pred...:voodoo:...it sounds as if it is already doing the trick though.

I would question the Ibuprofen, it is a NSAID and normally contraindicated with IBD.

I hope all continues to settle for Daisha hun and that you can breathe a little easier too!

I guess if there is a silver lining, perhaps the pred will fix the flare and the asthma at the same time. Good luck Vanessa!!
