Fistula

you should really go to a colo-rectal surgeon and have him take a look at it. Sometimes they can use a plug which gets absorbed into the body to fix it but you have to be a candidate for it.

Fistulas need to be treated with antibiotics as times also because the tract can go to other areas like the ureters of the kidneys, to the abdomen (I had that happen), other parts of the colon, etc. and if left untreated, can cause abscesses and serious infections that can seep into your body.

If you don't have a colo-rectal surgeon call your GI and ask him for a referral. Don't wait. GIVE HIM A CALL NOW!! good luck to you. ~GW (I've had several fistulas but knew enough to seek medical attention asap).

Naturally, I don't know any way of treating them that way... Unfortunately, when it comes to fistula... the more "natural" form of treatment seems to be surgery in my opinion. Antibiotics can close some and will often be used in conjunction with another treatment to allow the fistula closure. I don't know what kind of medication you are taking, if any, but generally it's either AZA/6-MP type or, even better suited, the biologics (Anti-TNF: humira, remicade).
