Thank you Ruth, I was able to read it fine. I wanted to add if people could also take a moment to read up on the differences between fissures and fistulas wikipedia has great info on the topic. I've noticed many posts where people use the wrong word...sorry just a pet peve..don't yell at me..

I looked up anal fissures and just fisulas and they had alot of info.

My name is Jeffrey and I have dad uc for ten years and currently awainting to have my j pouch reconnected in 3 months and my uncle went threw having a j pounch reversed becuase of too many fistulas and heard they are callled somtimes bad connections in the colon which sometimes cause leakage although dont take my word for it well all the best in your battles with your disease.....

mmm interesting. I suppose in different countries they are called different things. I understand that if you have several fistulas they should be referred to as fissures but even thought this is what I have, my GI has always said I have multiple fistulas.

And upon further reading, I definately had multiple fistulas and not fissures. There seems to be some real confusion over this. I was told on this site that multiple fistulas are called fissures, but that is not always the case. Thanks for the info though.
