Hi all...

I started in with a flare last Sunday and it's not going away. Fever, horrible joint pain, very achey right sided pain and SI joint pain on the left...oh...and some bloody diarrhea (once)..now it just back to normal..oh..except the blood tinged mucus...uggghhh. I missed 2 days of work last week and missed some fun social things over the weekend. The fatigue has been horrible too!

I had my f/u appt with GI doc today. I had to take the little man with me and I thought we had plenty of time but ended up being 15 minutes late..yeek. Luckily...she had a complicated procedure this am so she was running more behind then I was. Anyways...I really loved her the first time I saw her but today...she was like a different person. Not sure if it was d/t stress of the day, etc?? She said my CT enterography was "perfect"..she then went on to say..."lets still do the colonoscopy but I'm not sure we'll find anything". She then mentioned IBS and pretty much shrugged most of my symptoms off. She also wanted to do some stool samples, cultures etc..so I got the cups for those..oh joy! She also wants to do a gallbladder u/s..which I think is crazy..I kind of hinted that I was quite sure it's not my gallbladder...but she seems to be the control freak type and really wanted it..so I gave in and have it scheduled for Monday. Yeah..the whole appt was rushed and I felt like she wasn't listening to me today. Someone will be calling me to set up my colonoscopy.

Oh yeah..back to this CRP thing...(it's been bugging me so I mention it all the time in my other threads..lol). My CRP had come back at 8.6 on 3/5. She told me it wasn't d/t inflammation but due to my cardiac risk factors..i.e cholesterol not being in check. I was kind of confused because everything 10 and above means acute inflammation. I was on Prednisone at that time..so who's not to say that the pred. could have suppressed my crp into a lower level? I asked my PCP and he thought it was absolutely linked to inflammation. I told her that today and she said "no, that's not right, it just means you are at a higher risk for cardiac disease, it has to be 10 or more to be considered inflammation. I was like...umm...ok. She did want to check another one...so I had that drawn and called my triage buddies for the results this evening. Hmm..I'm off the prednisone and now my crp is 13.3!!! Take that lady...lol. No..I really do like her...I think maybe she was just having a bad day.

So..I will continue waiting and wondering until my scope. I so badly want to find an answer to what is making me so darn sick!

Sorry to here all your going through hopefully with the scope there will be some answers for you . I'm waiting for my third one. Hang in there ok . I do feel for you:)

Weird isn't it,
how one day your doc can be crawly bum leg with you, the next, act like they don't know you, must be the criteria to be a doc? hey? cynical? Moi?

good luck with the scope, hope you get the answer you deserve eventually
xx

Yeah...I'm wondering if it's a criteria for GI docs..lol? I've talked to a lot of people that have trouble with GI doc's in general....?? Don't get me wrong..I guess I can forgive her for having a rough day.....I have lots of rough days though and i never take it out or use a rushed/unfriendly tone with my triage patients. That's why I am so glad I have the best PCP in the world....I always have him to fall back on....my rheumy is great too!! Another thought is maybe the fact that I may be in a taking things to heart mode...I tend to be a lot more sensitive when i'm feeling like crap.

Thanks for the replies all!! And "pain in the butt"...I pray you find some answers soon too!!!
