Hi,
I've had Crohn's Disease for 15+ years and have been very lucky and not had a flare in 5 years. I was once an active member on another support website, but have been feeling OK and haven't been there in a long time... now flaring so? *G*

2 weeks ago I saw my Rheumatologist for Fibromyalgia and saw I had lost 13 pounds in 3 months without trying. That is usually an indicator of something about to happen.

Then that Saturday I began to flare, mucous, diarrhea, low grade fever... feeling bad. Sunday night I got worse, but Monday morning I got up and ran errands and was home crashed by 2pm. Over the next 3 hours my hips began hurting so bad I could not sit more than 2-3 minutes, stand and walking would relieve it m for a minutes and then increase again, I couldn't lay down, stand or sit without extreme pain. I called a friend to pick me up and take me to the hospital.

After a total of 2 mg. Diluadid they tried Toradol and I finally got relief to get a abdominal X-Ray and then a CT of the Abdomen. Lab results showed inflammatory markers elevated, occult blood in the stool and negative for any other stool related bacteria, etc.

Diagnosed with Proctitis, Colitis (Crohns Flare) and a partial obstruction. Placed on 40 Prednisone, Flagyl and Cipro, IV Fluids... I was in until Friday and was released.

I've had hip pain when I've woke up over the last year that would go away after an hour, at the most two hours.

This pain was worse than I have ever had in 15+ years! Any ideas as to why a flare would effect my hips so badly? If I say anything about joint pain to my GI says is Crohn's related, my Rheumatologist says it's Fibromyalgia. :shifty-t: I mean what in the world in this all about ? Crohn's Arthritis? Or? It doesn't really seem to fit what I'm reading about it.

Thank you for any and all help in this question....

Lisa
