Hi,
:sign0085:

I'm new to the forum and in need of some help. Here's some info about me, 24 years old, diagnosed with Crohn's in Sept 2011. Currently taking 6MP 50mg/day.

I was doing pretty good until the last week or so. I started experience some minor cramping which I reported to my GI. He recommend I give it a few days and report back. After a few days my symptoms went away and I felt pretty good.

On Saturday I left for a 10 day business trip to Norway. I started getting some bad cramping/diarrhea yesterday. Could it be because of my sudden change in diet? I'm not sure what to do, I'm afraid there might be a little blood in my stool, but it could of been something I ate, not sure. . Any advice at what I should do? A little lost.

dont stress about it yet. ive had days where my stool starting to look fuzzy and float and i was worried i was falling into a flare, but a couple more days and it resovled itself. it was just the body going through its normal motions. when we are exposed to new foods, new enviornments, a minor infection, our bodies need to adjust it is a normal cycle.

best advice is to reamin calm and know you will make it. there is a paralell connection between mental health and physical health. you dont want to start to eat some of norways spicy foods either, thats for sure. spicy food kill gut bacteria (good and bad) and too much is never good for you. a little bit here and there is good for you though, itll kill those nasty bugs you dont want as long as your gut is in general good health (of course dont take this advice if you know you dont do well with spicy food )

if you dont return to yourself within a couple of days, you know who you must report to. i hope this is not the case. then again it could last weeks if it is an infection like travelers diarrhea. basically no one knows, just remain CALM, close your eyes and breathe throughout the day.

Thanks for the reply Bmeat. I’m trying to stay positive, but as the day progresses, I’m starting to believe things aren’t right. I had much more blood in my stool and I’m running to the bathroom after every bite of food. What a nightmare. Going to have to contact my GI, my biggest fear is that the first time I flared I got Uveitis as well.

Keep in mind that leaving on a trip also causes stress adn god knows stress is not good for us.

It's porbably temporary.

Thats a shame. Blood is not a good sign. I hope things get better for you

Feels better to be talking about it. Thanks for all the support. Yea I feel like the trip triggered it. I was feeling pretty good before I left and then all of a sudden it hit me.
