Im really struggling with things at the moment. Not in the way people would think. I am underweight and have been for quite a while. If I eat a healthy amount I cant seem to gain weight or lose small amounts. Ive also had issue regarding eating and weight. Most of the time worrying about gaining weight etc. However I go through phases of binge eating, mostly through being bored. For the last week and a half Ive not felt unwell and have been eating more and more. Im slowly putting on weight, but it worries me, also because Im eating a lot of food like bread/crisps/cakes etc. Even though Ive put weight on Im still underweight. My mum thinks its good Im putting weight on, but I just feel bad eating the bad food. Im trying to eat more healthy, but its difficult.

Any suggestions?

Also I had my colonoscopy in june and had 8 biopsies taken. I was told that my results would go back to my gp if not have to wait until my follow up appointment, which is still a month away. I tried calling the hospital who said my gp has to follow up the results. Spoke to them and nothing has happened. Should I be able to get my results before my follow up or do you think they will keep them from me until my appointment. When I had the colonoscopy I was told the results would be available within 2 weeks. I hate this hanging around.

Thanks

Try to eat more protein foods if you can (eggs, meat, fish). These foods make you feel fuller for longer and will hopefully encourage you to put on muscle not fat or water weight. Lots of small meals is also good to help you eat enough to gain weight.

As for biopsy results, if you are in the UK the hospital can't give you the results over the phone for data protection reasons. Provided you gave them your gps details when you had your scope, you can ask them to send results to your gp. If that doesn't work, and your gp hasn't followed up either, I would make an appointment with your gp, and get him/her to ring the hospital and get the results faxed while you are there! Maybe feign ignorance 'well the hospital said the results would take two weeks so I figured you must have them by now'

Good luck!

When I was first gaining weight I ate a lot of chicken and rice which helped. I'm not sure what your condition is like but you could try harder to digest food if you want.
