Hello!

Was wondering if you lovely people out there could give me some suggestions for meals!! I've been going with a vegan diet, as well as incorporating fish into it (not fully vegan, i know!) but i'm starting to get a little bored of fish, rice and mushy vegetables...

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I'm trying to 'trial & error' with my food at the moment to see what works and what doesn't! :)

Have a look at 'What FAT vegans eat' and 'FAT vegans recipe hoard' on Facebook. You can get loads of great meal ideas on there. The FAT stands for Fantastic And Terrific, but be warned they are not all 'healthy' recipes. Vegans like cake ;-)

You don't say if you have any particular requirements for your food, like low residue e.g. Maybe try experimenting with lower fibre protein sources like tofu or tempeh, or seitan (wheat gluten), if you find beans a bit hard to digest.

Thank you very much for your recommendations, i'll be sure to check it out!
My dietary requirements at present are gluten free, wheat free and dairy free (they seem to work a little better for me!)

Hopefully i can find something a bit more interesting to make! :)

hi SBKN,

how long have you been on this diet? do you feel it helps your CD?

I eat a lot of raw almond butter heavily spread on a banana with additional fruits such a strawberries or blueberries on top of it. Its very good and very filling!
watch out for vit B12 going vegan. make sure your GI monitors it. Mine was a bit low last check up and I must eat a bit more fish protein in hope to adjust it.

Hi! I've been trying this diet out for about 2 months now, I have been incorporating fish to try and get some goodness in me! It seems really that fish rice and avocado is my safe option for food lately!

I don't know if you find that some days, what you thought to be 'safe' foods, also play up and you start to lose faith and question whether you'll be able to eat a good hearty and healthy meal again!!
