Hi all.

It seems that every month or so, I suffer from stomach flu symptoms. I get very painful abdominal cramps which usually last all night, loose stools, and sometimes vomiting. This only lasts for a day, but then I need about a week to recover from mild cramps, nausea and feeling unwell.

I did blood tests a couple of times, and everything was normal. The doctor also sometimes gave me antibiotics (Cipro and Flagyl) but it doesn't seem they do that much.

Does this thing happen to you? do you seem to have less tolerability to toxins or bacteria in food, air, water etc... since having crohn's? I'm trying my best to eat at home and avoid toxins, but I can't seem to protect myself whatever I do :confused2:

Hey! If you happen to be on Imuran or some similar immunosuppressant then that could be lowering your defenses against bugs... But these symptoms could also just be a part of your individual Crohns symptoms.

I've been on Imuran for almost 2 years now, but I was having this even before I started taking it. I think I should try and take more antioxidants and see if that helps!!!!

I don't have any real advice but I'd just like to say I hope you feel better. That sucks being sick all the time. My symptoms are starting to ease up a little bit after going on a low fiber diet. When I flare up I take lots of gas-x and pepto-bismol.

I hope it stops soon. Its like you get a day flare once a month. Actually though at school stomache bugs have been going around once a month or so and I have caught a few. Right now I have one and it sucks.

I wish you the best of luck
