Please excuse my venting...
I am a huge sports enthusiast, and have been playing rep girls box lacrosse for 3 years, but I feel like I can't even play anymore. I go to practice at night and I have absolutely no energy anymore because I can't keep any food in my system. Its extremely frustrating not being able to run as fast or hit as hard anymore.
I have to sit on the bench and watch and I just want to cry because I want to be able to be my normal self again; but I know it will never happen.
Have any of you guys went through this?

I don't know anyone who hasn't gone through something similar.

We've all wished that we could be our normal selves again too. It's hard coping with it the first few years cause you just aren't used to it and some don't know what being in remission is like. It's possible that you will go back to being your normal active self again without the fatigue and pain and urgency. I know its frustrating right now but things can get better, it just takes some time.

Look at your quote in your sig even. It's true and applies to your situation. We can't let crohns control our minds as well. Do what you can when you're able and keep a positive attitude so you can do your best.

thanks crabby :)
i guess its just hard since the girls has since been treating me differently, like not chasing me so hard or not hitting me at all.

I hear ya. I'm saying to my friends "I'm okay! Don't baby me!" and then turning around and saying, "hey...so, uh, I can't carry my scuba tank because the anaemia has taken away all my strength. Wanna help out?" Maybe it can help if you remind yourself how others on your team need help and support with some things, too (maybe someone on the team has asthma, or diabetes, for example) and that as a group you've negotiated with each other to provide those supports. They'll likely be more than happy to negotiate with you, too -- yes, it's okay to hit you, but just know that you might not make it through an entire practice some nights.
