So I just received my CT scan results from my new GI and he was nice enough to call me with the results instead of waiting 3 weeks until I go see him again. He stated he found an abscess in my pelvic area and it needs to be surgically drained because anti-biotics are not going to heal it up because it is on my CT scan I had done to see if I had a blockage 3 months ago. Thats not even the worst part. The CT scan I had done 3 months ago when I was in the hospital was done by a different GI, one I was not thrilled with and now I know why. He knew the abscess was there and never told me. My new GI found out from my medical records he requested from the previous dr only I was shocked because my old GI never told me about the abscess but put it in my records? Who does that!?!?!? I am so mad that I have to have surgery now because the other dr decided to keep my medical results a secret from me! The old GI told me after that first CT scan that it looked like my Crohn's was spreading and I may have other issues and when I asked what tests he was going to do or what new meds I was going to be put on he stated he wasnt going to change anything because he was just going to keep treating it the same way! I am so glad I changed doctors but still who doesnt tell a patient they have an abscess in their pelvic area that is causing an infection and causing them pain!
