ok, I went to emerge last week with Crohns symptoms, by fluke, the dr found gall stones. I have had no symptoms of gall stones. How long can you go symptom free with gall stones? My family dr is sending me for another ultrasound, he said he has never heard of someone having gall stones and don't feel it.

Anyone experience this?

I was told the opposite, that you can have Gallstones and suffer no symptoms from them. It depends on how many you have and how small they are I think. Here is a link on it.

Yes, I have symptomless gallstones.
I don't know how many or how big but the person who did the ultrasound of my abdominal area, which is when the gallstones were found, was very surprised I don't have any symptoms. Long may it continue...

Ok, just saw the dr earlier and yes I do have multiple gall stones and have no symptoms. So the dr doesn't think they will operate until I have symptoms.
Bunty, how long have you had the gall stones?

I can't remember exactly when I had the ultrasound, sometime last year, so perhaps twelve months ago. I don't know how long stones take to form so don't know how long Ive actually been walking round with them.
I forget I have them and haven't altered my diet at all. My doctor has dismissed any concerns about them as I wouldn't have known I had any if I'd not had the ultrasound. As I understand it, many people are walking round with gallstones and kidney stones without knowing it.
