getting a endoscope and flexi sigmoid oh the joys

ive had cetain symptoms for a good few years now always put it off and put it off as i was scarred but finally getting it looked into.....i had a endoscope < not quite and endoscope cant rem what the girl said but i think it is something similar as it goes down my throat and also a sigmoid scheduled a wee while back but i couldnt drink all the laxitive so they want me to have a enema (well embaressed to have this) ive been promised i am getting sedation but ive heard horror storys about it not working them not giving you enough or none at all.......any way would just like to no your experiences and what an enema is like? is the scope down the throat feel like your going to choke to death? which is worse the sigmoid or endoscope thank you x

I've had a barium enema, if that's what you're referring to. I'd make another attempt at drinking all the laxative if I were you.

I had a sigmoid and I felt it a tiny bit even with light sedation. But my scopes I am OUT! Let us know how it turns out. I had the one from the nose down the throat but was NOT out only freezing in the throat. The only thing that stopped me from ripping it out was watching the screen. It was the answer to a full diagnosis. Sorry but hopefully you get the sedation you need.

The sedation works really well for me. Enemas aren't something that I enjoy, but if they help find out what is causing your symptoms, it's a small price to pay. Take care, and enjoy the view on the monitor if you can see it!
