Getting ready for the colonoscopy...

I just have a few rather embarrassing questions, ladies.

Do you get ready for this appt the same way you'd get ready for the OB/GYN, with a nice little shave job?? :yfaint:

AND!!! What do you do if its that time of the month???!!!! :sign0085:
I really don't want to get all the way there, prepped, only to be told the same thing my GYN said...can't do it right now, get dressed. Brrr....makes me wanna bring my own blanket!!

I was on my period when I had my scope last year. It isn't a problem. I didn't even mention it, and they didn't ask. I didn't shave either. Never crossed my mind, to be honest.

Are you diagnosed?

I just try to be as clean as possible - make sure I hit the toilet before or after I bet changed.....never had anyone ask about my peroid, but I also try to schedule around that....

Well, I've had two CT's scans that have come back as UC/Crohn's possible diverticulitis. First scan was almost 12 yrs ago. Second was just a few weeks ago. In between the two I've just been lumping the pain, big time. It seemed a little acceptable to live with the pain... but now my little girl seems to be following in my foot steps. Lots of tummy pain, and tummy issues. In fact she was in the hospital for constipation. The dr.'s kept asking about Crohn's and UC in the family, and can you believe I completely forgot to tell them about my scan I had?! So, they didn't check her. I could just kick myself now. They had her all cleaned out...she got an NG tube, with the golitely, or what ever its called, had I remembered about my scan, they could have checked her at that time.
She's 8.
I still stand by my self description, When the dr. checks my butt, he's gonna find tail feathers...as I am the biggest chicken EVER! I am doing this for my daughter...so maybe we can start figuring out her issues, as stress-free to her as possible.

I'm so happy to hear, though, that I don't need to worry about my monthly... or trying to make a nice little shave job. What kinda mirror angle would that have been? LOL
