Getting Resectioned

Well, it looks like I'll be lined up to remove 3 parts of my large intestine. I think he said it was like 9in total. I have 3 not-too-large ulcers just in my large intestine that haven't calmed down or healed over the past year or more. So they're going to cut them out and sew the good parts back together. Very Very Very scared here. 1st real major surgery. At least they're working with charity care and my medicare to get this paid for. That's half my major fear, to live through the surgery and be healthy and then have a assload of debt to work off before I'm really free from this. Anyways......that's kinda the plan, I just keep having bloody poo, right now the diagnosis is inbetween chrons and ulcerative colitis, and it's all waiting on a genetic marker test for crohns, which is costing me $$$. I don't care what they call it anymore I just want all this to stop and life to go back to somewhat normal. I'd love to sleep for 8hrs straight without having to punish the toilet with my toxic byproducts.

Everything should go well. I had no problem with my surgery. The recovery in the hospital was boring and that was the worst part of it.

I felt 100% better as soon as I woke up, aside from the initial pain. They simply upped the pain killer and that took care of the pain.

Make sure your guts or emptied out good, that is about all you have to do beforehand.

Make sure you have access to the internet and some good reading material. Not too much else you can do the first couple of days.
