I have been sick for the last week or so with no sign of getting better. I am worried bronchitis or pneumonia and with having Crohn's; I know my body isn't able to fight as well.

Is it normal to get either one? I haven't been sick like this ever, and I am not sure what to do.

Hi,

Start building you immune system up if not already doing so. IBD is the underlying cause of me picking up virus after infection after virus and in march I started with pains in my lungs, shivering and a nasty cough which i couldn't fight off and it led to me having post viral fatigue! the last 6 months have been awful. Getting better now I think and back to work a few hours a week but now i have 2 conditions i have double joint pain, double nausea and double fatigue. I didnt really look after myself before but have learnt. Everyday i take 1000mg vit c, aloe vera juice, ginger, vit b, osetocare, mastic gum, eve primrose oil, omega 3, a elderberry capsule. Alot of these are anti viral. I also steam my lungs every night. There is possibly a link between IBD and lung disease! Take care.

If possible I usually get straight to my GP when I start to feel like that. A blood test usually follows suit. Are you able to keep anything down, e.g liquid only?

Have you seen a doctor? Bronchitis/etc wont get better by itself and are potentially very serious. Some Crohn's meds can cause complications, for example methotrexate can can cause pneumonitis...

I am not on any Crohn's meds at the time, and I am also pregnant, so taking anything is hard. I just haven't had Crohn's for very long, and I haven't gotten sick while knowingly having CD. I did see an ARNP today, and I have a sinus and ear infection. As well as, bronchitis.:ywow:
