A little backstory: I have been living with Crohn's for about 12 years and was given a formal diagnosis in Sept 2012. At the time I was put on Pentasa 500mg 2 pills, twice a day. I was put on a relatively small dosage since I was pregnant at the time my GI told me that I had Crohn's. After my pregnancy, I was put on Apriso 375gm, 3 pills once a day, and it helped for the most part. My GI wanted to keep me on that medication to see if it would maintain the "remission" that I got while I was pregnant. Since then my GI has retired and I am currently without a GI.

On to the more current portion of this: I am going to be moving to another state at the beginning of April, so it is pointless for me to go to my GP and get a referral for a new GI. Over the past few weeks, I've started getting sicker with now having nausea and vomiting along with my regular symptoms of abdominal cramping and diarrhea. I'm going to see my GP as soon as I can, but I wanted to see if anyone might have some suggestions as to what I should ask at my appt to get the best treatment until I can get to a new GI in a few months.

Update:

Went to the doc today. Decided to bump up my medication from 3 pills to 4 pills once a day. And she put in a referral for a GI to see if I can get in before I move. Doc thinks that since I'm still having symptoms while being on the medicine that I should be put on remicade or Humira to go into remission since its clear that I haven't done so already. Hopefully on Tuesday I can call and get my appt set up. Other than that there wasn't much she was willing to do since she's not a GI. Here's to hoping getting a GI doesn't take forever.
