Today I went in for my Remicade follow up with my GI. I've gained weight and she gave me a a thumbs up to drop the Bentyl. Still have to take the Pentasa, but when I go back in 6 months she may drop that also.

SHE SAID I'M IN REMISSION!!!!!!!! I'M FLYING!!!!!!!!!!!

Now let's get to work getting everyone else there. I don't want to be alone so I need everyone that isn't in remission to join me.

I ate Vanilla Ice Cream last night for the first time since I don't know when. It didn't cramp me up or give me the poops. It tasted so good. I think I'll wait a few days to eat anymore though.

I LOVE REMICADE!!!!!!

Congrats, Greg! How long did it take you to get to remission? Glad you could celebrate with ice cream! Waiting for the day I can share the same kind of news :)

Greg,

Great news...I'm happy for you! Where do I sign up for this "remission" business? Do you have any extra tickets?

What you said touches me. Thanks so much. There is beauty in simplicity. I'm moved deeply that a grown adult man can find joy in something as simple as eating a single bowl of vanilla ice cream.

Greg, you've shared the secret of "appreciation". You've missed out on something so many people take for granted, for so long you can't remember. What a beautiful thing. You helped me by identifying a simple blessing of this disease. Your post teaches me that "appreciation is the result of contrary experience."

Thanks again and God bless!

:allright: :allright: :allright: :allright: :allright: You're the Man!!

Way to go Greg!!!
I've posted on FB to you too!
lotsa luv

That's fantastic Greg! I hope you stay in remission for a very long time and keep enjoying that ice cream! :)

Marisa, I had my first treatment in the end of January. I started noticing a big improvement in March after the 3rd treatment. I hadn't missed work because of the Crohns since the last of Febuary.
We really had our fingers crossed after the 4th treatment knowing how things had changed and that I had a GI visit coming up. Was hoping to come off the Pentasa yesterday but I can take it for another 6 months as long as I feel this good.

Thanks everyone, I hope you guys don't mind but I'm still doing my booty shake celebration. I might go get PIZZA this weekend.

Greg....I am so jealous! But, I am sooo happy to hear a good story. I haven't been around for a while. Wow! good to hear remicade is doing the "trick". (((Hug))) Sue

Congrats!!! I've been in a remission stage for a while now(I THINK) But started having pain etc again since yesterday. Going for a scope the week after next. I'm happy for you though and i hope you have a long and happy remission.
