I have been waiting for this day since last September, when the doctor said I needed to begin Infliximab urgently but couldn't because the blood tests showed Hepatitis A positive. So all these months I've been waiting and waiting and watching my condition get worse, while blood tests after blood tests maintained HepA+. The results were questioned by other doctors, but my crohn's doc remained unabated - it is Hep A, and you cannot begin treatment.
Many months, various setons, loads of pain, fever and antibiotics, and a new doctor later, the latest blood test results came today. Hep A negative.
Starting Humira next week. So relieved. Beginning to see a light at this endless tunnel!
Thanks for everyone's support, it has made a huge difference all this time. Fingers crossed Humira will make a difference, I've been brought to despair enough times during these last six months.
