hi guys, recently had a scope done, the results were pretty good I guess, especially considering that one of the main reasons for the scope was to see/maybe do a balloon dilation of the IC/valve as the GI thought that there could of been potential stricturing there (as although I was considered in biochemicial remission I am still experiencing pains). Anyways scope was good, there was no scarring, no stricturing, no terminal ileum involvement, there was no ulceration, just a patch of "mild inflammation" in the sigmoid (I think It was sigmoid) colon. The endoscopy revealed some gastritis (which im on a 6 week course of somac for).

Anyway, I'm currently on 100mg Imuran (I weigh 53kgs/115 pounds). Also on 4mg pentasa a day. Do you think it would be worth upping the meds, I mean, although my bloods are good and FCP was below 20, wouldn't mild inflammation still suggest active CD? I haven't seen the GI since the scope so I've got to ask him. at the same time, its an improvement since the last scope which was done in Sept last year.

hmmm, feel lost :(

Hi. I am glad scopes are good. Are you waiting for Biopsies results? I think mild inflammation can occur with the meds or with the prep for scopes. I hope they took biopsies. Please let us know how it goes.

Glad the scopes were good. Personally I wouldn't up medication for mild inflammation. It may just go away on its own or with a soft foods diet for a while. Of course these decisions need to be made by you and in conjunction with your doctor.

Joshua,

any new news on your biopsies and inflammation?
Hope the pain subsides soon buddy.
