goodbye Entocort, hello Prednisone!

well my entocort trial finally ended a few days ago, the only thing it did was get rid of the diarrhea...which is great, but i was sick to my stomach a lot and had little to no appetite the whole time and threw up for no reason quite a few times while on it. finally got a hold of my GI (after leaving 4 messages) and he got me back on the prednisone today. ive done prednisone before with great results but we only did a 6 day "power pack" and i felt amazing while on it but as soon as i was off it i fell right back into my crappy slump...literally. so now we are doin a month course starting with 30mg, i really hope it sends me into remission, harvest is coming up and it would be nice to not be sick during our busy season for once.

a couple hours after my first dose today i was STARVING! and was full of energy. my ma made chicken dinner tonight so i went over there and ate more than ive eaten in probably 3 months...i actually ate a full meal and dam near licked my plate clean, i hogged it down fast....and no nausea! yay! im so happy to finally be feeling ok for once. hopefully ill be able to put some weight back on while on the prednisone. im going to go to wendy's tomorrow and get a spicy chicken sandwich (which i swore i would never eat again) to test the waters...and if that goes well then ill have to get some mexican food from Nacho's, i love their food but havent been able to eat it in a long time. its so nice to be craving food again. anyway, im just real happy and had to tell somebody about it lol. take care everyone.

I'm so happy, happy, happy for you too Chris!!!

Good to hear mate, :)

Hey Chris, I bet your dad is looking forward to a healthy you for harvesting 2000 acres of corn and beans!!! Good luck man but don't go too crazy with all that spicy food!!!

I'm with Mark, you may still want to avoid spicy food! It does me in no matter what! Even before I got ill, I would get a lot of d after eating anything spicy. I used to love getting a "mild" Pad Thai every so often, but even in its mild form it was still too spicy for me and I wouldn't touch the stuff now even if you paid me and even if I were on pred! Good luck, you might need it. Let us know how it goes!

Great news - but take it easy on the food. I know it is hard cause you are feeling so great, but you really don't want to over do it. Give the rest of your body some time to adjust. Trust me, I learned this the hard way with prednisone :(
