So went to my gp today for a check on my cervix to see why I have abnormal bleeding ......

She found some problems areas an this is where the bleeding is likely to be coming from ,so not the steroids like I thought :(.
Im being sent for laser treatment to remove the problem areas plus obviously they have sent off swabs etc for everything, so fingers crossed, at least I've caught it early if it's anything more sinister .
Anyone else here been through this? Just to give me some advice x

Also she's sending me for a bone density scan b coz I've been on steroids a long time an having alot of pain in my joints .

So altogether a productive doctors appointment, fair play she was amazing very helpful an I will c her from now on !
She's really disappointed in my gi for not doing his job properly , she is the one who's referred me to the new one , she said he should have followed me up ages ago to see how the steroids were working an how they were affecting me but he hasn't bothered an didn't even bother to come an see me in hospital just sent his " team " .
I definitely need different medication she mentioned Azathiopine ( as did last gi team visit in hospital) but understands I have to wait to see 6 months to see my new gi to get more advice from him , she's not happy about the wait an says she will see what strings she can pull ! Yay lol
So im happy things are being sorted anyway .

Anyone had to have this laser treatment ? Or know what it involves personally ?
I hate just reading it on the net, yes you get the answers but it's always better to hear a personal account of treatments .

Hi Jenny, I have had this done and it is not too bad at all. I had cauterisation which involved a quick injection to freeze the area then the procedure was done together with taking biopsies for analysis. It was not painful, and ordinary analgesics dealt with a wee bit of soreness later. Try not to worry it is a common procedure. Good luck for the results!
