Hello everyone-
I was diagnosed with IBS the first time 15 years ago - turned out I needed my gall bladder out. I was diagnosed with IBS again 5+ yeas ago. After 5 years of suffering and a trip to the ER, it turns out I had a large diverticulum in my esophagus and I had surgery in February. "IBS" symptoms are back again, but I really don't buy this diagnosis anymore.
I've finally found a GI that will actually do ALL the tests (small bowel follow through, colonscopy, endoscopy, etc.) rather than just push drugs at me. I'm waiting for a colonoscopy/endoscopy the end of June. The small bowel follow through showed a normal small intestine.
Earlier this year, before I had surgery, I developed granuloma annulare - a skin condition of red, circular bumps, kind of looks like ringworm. They don't hurt or itch, just kinda ugly. I know crohn's disease often includes granuloma in the colon. I'm wondering if there's a connection. Has anyone been diagnosed with this skin condition AND Crohn's?
