My doctor's office is trying something new for Crohnies with active disease. According to my doctor's office, people with diabetes and other chronic diseases have management of their care with a combination of individual and group care.

Here is how the program will work... In mid April I will go in for an 8:30 private consultation and checkup with my doctor (probably right out of the hospital from my takedown). After this, I will attend a class/seminar with other Crohnies to meet with a dietician to discuss diets, eating habits, etc... No individual medical information will be shared with the group. This will happen every two weeks with a different specialist or topic to be discussed.

It seems like a novel idea and willing to give it a try. Has anyone else done this?

I have not done this, but it sounds great. Please let us know how it goes!

No I haven't done that before. I was asked to do it for insomnia if I wanted further treatment but I opted out. "Hello, my name is Jennifer and I'm an insomniac." Just didn't seem to work for me to talk about better ways to fall asleep. But what you're about to do sounds like what we're doing here, only in person and with a quicker response. :p Let us know how it goes. :)

I also never tried it.

ON the opther head I have met with different people like dieticians on my own.

On the whole however I think we will use all the help we can get.

PLease do let us know...
