My doctor's office is trying something new for Crohnies with active disease. According to my doctor's office, people with diabetes and other chronic diseases have management of their care with a combination of individual and group care.
Here is how the program will work... In mid April I will go in for an 8:30 private consultation and checkup with my doctor (probably right out of the hospital from my takedown). After this, I will attend a class/seminar with other Crohnies to meet with a dietician to discuss diets, eating habits, etc... No individual medical information will be shared with the group. This will happen every two weeks with a different specialist or topic to be discussed.
It seems like a novel idea and willing to give it a try. Has anyone else done this?
