had 1st infusion need some advice

well i had my first in fusion all i can say is i can feel a diffrence no blood and no stringy bits in the toilet.

but now i have a funny taste in my mouth a my taste is out of whack is this normal

also i have been having mucus and water leaking from my backside for the last 4 years i have noticed a bit less mucus but the water still leaks i was just wondering if this will clear up with more infusions

all in all i can feel a diffrence so pretty happy

Can't offer any advice/solutions but just wanted to say how nice it is to hear one infusion has made a difference. I am still awaiting approval to start.

Welcome to the club!!!

For me it took 3 infusion to really start feeling great. So I think that it's good you are feeling better already. I guess that with your next 2 infusion you will be even better.

I've never had any leaks though so can,t really say

Good luck!!

Boza, I had a funny taste from the first infusion too. I'd had a colonoscopy the day before, and thought it was the lingering taste of Picolax, but the sane happened a few days after the 2nd.
I didn't notice any change in my symptoms after the first one, but after the 2nd saw a marked improvement.
Sincerely hoping it does the job for you x

thats good to know got another infusion in a week so se how i go I just wanna start getting out of the house and stop leaking it's summer here in oz and i wanna spend time outside

I found everything was much better after my 3rd infusion, although it did improve after my 1st.
Ive stopped bleeding, muscus is virtually gone, no more D or pain. Toilet habits are nearly back to normal and apart from a bit of bloating im great (just had my 4th 2wks ago)

BOZA: I can echo everything everyone else has said; Remicade is the only thing that I've had a really positive response to, and once I started feeling a difference my health skyrocketed up to as good as it ever has been. I want to say it took a few weeks to notice a change for me, so if you felt it after the first infusion hopefully you're not too far away from being in a nice, loooong remission!

This is great conversation.....I just spent 10 days in the hospital after suffering the worst flare up in my life. I have had crohns for 25 years and this was the first time being put in hospital. Wow, didn't realize I was so so sick. The decision was made to start Remicade.......After a colonoscopy on Monday, they gave me my first infusion of Remicade on Tuesday. I got out of hospital on Thursday and it has taken almost a week for me to get my strength back.....Remicade is a miracle. I am back to normal after the first infusion. I get my second infusion on the 21st and wait four weeks for the third and then every 8 weeks thereafter. YES,YES, YES......there is a wacky taste in my mouth. Is it the remicade, prednisone, Asacol, Zoloft, prilosec or whatever? I have been eating like a horse but feeling so much better.
