Well I'm out of the hospital :)

I had 3 units of blood (3 bags) an feel soooo much better for it !
It hasn't helped my flare but has given me much needed energy to cope with it . I seriously thought I was gonna drop dead before any 1 realised how ill I was lol

So I saw an on call gi an he was amazing , he was disgusted at my treatment an how my gi let's me starve an had left me on 2 steroids which I'm not meant to be on , an tells me to c my gp when I ring his secretary in desperation .
So within 10 mins he turns up with dr balaratnam and his full student team !!!
After me saying I've gotta wait 6 mnths to see him and I'm willing to wait as I won't see my old one coz he's not helping me .
Wow !!!!! Is all I can say .

He wants me on azathropine or 6mp but has given me till after Xmas to start coz of side effects .
He will see me in clinic in jan, and is going right back through my notes and every test I've had to see what's been happening since 2003 when my symptoms started .
I'm hoping that he can help me find some kind of remission or at least better control of my pain and diarrhoea , i was told I needed to stay in as they need to investigate further etc an my White blood count was severely high but I really couldn't stay as there was no one to have my kids any longer with the hubby working ( my health is important but I genuinely knew I'd be there for 2+ wks if I stayed an its Christmas we needed the money from work . No work no money no Xmas lol )
I'm soooo happy things are finally going forward even if things go the wrong way I've got what I need a fresh face on things xx

Yay! You must be so relieved to be both out of hospital and to have a GI who is actively listening. Great news. Hope the treatment plan in the New Year will work well for you x

Glad to hear you are getting results. Something as little as a doctor actually listening to you then answering your questions is something many people don't understand. Wish you and yours the best this and every year.

Great I'm feeling rough again
I've got loads of pain just to the right an slightly down by my belly button.
It feels like my bowel is swollen and if I press it I'll scream and it's very hot to the touch, I feel really ****** , like fluey an ache all over muscles an joints .

Is this me getting worse or a side effect of the blood transfusion ?
I really don't wanna go to the er as u can imagine so I will hang on till mon to call my gi or see a gp if I can , I'm just wondering if any 1 can shed any light on this before I end up in hospital :(

I would be seeking medical treatment NOW for your symptoms you just described. ANYTHING swollen/hot to the touch is a very good sign of infection!...nothing to mess around with, if you have an abcess you could become septic VERY QUICKLY....

Please seek some treatment today - even if you go and get some antibiotics etc it would be MUCH BETTER than the alternative.

(Speaking from experience in Emergency Medical Services and my own personal experiences!)

Heartily agree with Passo. You really need to be seen. So sorry this is happening and hoping it's something that can be dealt with quickly and easily x

I'm already on antibiotics they're called flagly 400mg 3 x a day .
I have been taking them religiously since tues when the hospital gave me them , tbh I don't know what they're for just that my White blood cell count was very high I think .
do u really think I should get back down to the hospital coz I'm on the antibiotics already would there b much else wrong ?
I'm actually running a temperature so I know something is deffo wrong here , I just don't fancy the hospital again, do we ever !

it's 7pm here in the uk so I'm gonna get some rest an c if I'm any better tomorrow morning , if not then I've got no choice but to head straight down there :( .
I hate the hosp as u can c but I promise I will go tommoz if I still feel the same or worse even !
May b tonight wont go so well I dunno but fingers crossed it's just a side effect of being run down an having a blood transfusion .

It could be you have an infection that the Flagyl won't touch- that is used for bacterial infections mainly.

The fever DEFINITELY says something is wrong.....if it gets any higher and/or your symptoms get worse in any way - get off to the ER!.....

I think you know you should be going, usually when we ask others it is because we want the justification for ourselves.....

Take care of yourself!!!
