I had an MRI scan yesterday and after about an hour or so after it I started to feel numbeness in my left arm, my thumb and in the palm of my hand and it is still like it today?? Does anyone know why this is??

I can't think of any reason- did you have a plain MRI (nothing added) or did you get some dye/drink?
I had to drink some stuff and had dye and buscopan stuff injected in.
It is numb at the minute, it is quite weird
In that case I think it would be worth contacting your GP or the MRI unit where you had the scan.

I am having the same thing done on tuesday & have been informed I have to take a mild laxative call Klean prep r an hour before.
Is this what you had & if so did you get any belly ache with it?
I am worried about being in the scanner & needing the loo.
I think your numbness could be from the injection site. I would advise you to call the department & check with them.

They injected the stuff into my right arm so I don't know why it has happened to my left arm, but my mum is going to get hold of the MRI department and ask about it.
Hi Kip1, my arm is still numb but my mum is going to contact the MRI department about it so hopefully they might know why.

maybe youve had a reaction to the dye? get your mum to contact the MRI department ASAP to let them know whats happening. All the best.
Kip i had to take clean prep before my colonoscopy and it wasnt too bad a little discomfort while going to the toilet but nothing serious. Good luck for your scan.
