Got a copy of the pathology report and discussed with GI doc. The most severe of the inflammation is in her terminal iliem. She also showed Crohn's related inflammation in her stomach and some patchy inflammation in her colon. He is starting her on iron supplements to deal with some of the anemia. She will start weaning off the Prednisone 5 MG a week starting a week from today. We go back in a month for blood work and to assess her condition. I discussed the Pentasa with him and he is of the opinion that it's worth trying as he has had several patients with a positive response. I'm willing to give it a try before moving on to something stronger.
Overall, I'm somewhat unimpressed with our GI. His bedside manner could use some improvement and he was a little hard to get information out of. He answered all my questions but I would have preferred he expand on some thinGS to a greater degree. We are going to be scheduling an appointment with the dietician that us associated with the GI's office.
I have some concerns about how we will determine she is in remission since she has never had much pain. She has loose stool but the GI said that could be her normal with or without a flare.
Hard to elaborate while typing on my phone but that's the gist.

I also recently had serve inflammation in my terminal ileum and some parts of my colon. Due to this, I went on a Boost plus diet for about 10 weeks (5 bottles a day with 200 calories of low residue food), along with Prednisone (which I am tapering down on). There is a fecal calprotectin test that tested for my inflammation. We used this test to determine if I would start back on Remicade. The test showed my inflammation went down by a lot over the course of 2-3 months. I think the diet along with there steroids really worked well together, so you may want to ask your doctor about that!

If you try to restart Remicade, make sure they test you for antibodies.
