Basically I want to ask if anybody out there has been prescribed any medication for acid reflux disease even though you dont have any symptoms of acid reflux disease and have you noticed a difference with bathroom visits?

I ask because my pcp put me on aciphex a couple days ago, and while I still have to go to the bathroom on a pretty regular basis to make sludge deposits, I dont notice the figity, restless, in-between poo pain pain when I'm on it. Unfortunantly when I take the aciphex though I get a headache right at the temples and behind the eyes that just throbes to no end. I tested this by not taking it last night, and well no headache but do have the above mentioned in-between poo pain that I'm dealing with right now.

The first prescription given to me when I started having symptoms was Nexium and it did not help at all.

I was given Nexium when I left the hospital - I have no idea why - maybe the doc was just covering all the bases? But it didn't help my Crohn's or slow down the diarrhea. Not only that, but taking these drugs or any acid reducer long-term has it's own problems.

My docotor keeps asking me if i'm having acid reflux symptoms and they perscriped it too me after leaving the hospital too. But after my egd showed no signs of acid reflux they said there was no point in taking the priolec or nexium if i wasn't having symptoms. I think people with crohns are supposed to "usually" suffer from acid reflux. I had reflux for years and after being pregnant with my first son it went away and hasn't come back. My egd did show scaring from it (i had no insurance when it was bad).
