I know I know I have already asked enough questions for one day But I need :sign0085:

As you know Ko has still been feeling horrible. He has had the pain in his back and I have also asked about the pain that is up higher in his stomach. Not the same pain he had to start with. His tummy has been so swollen or bloated that this is what I wonder has caused the stretch marks. He also has the rapid heart rate and nausea. But he has had no fever or throwing up.

Could he have Pancreatitis caused by the 6mp? Would normal blood work test him for this? I dont want to sound like a crazy mother but this does worry me very badly.

So I was wondering if anyone else has ever had this?THanks

I think I remember Dusty mentioning pancreatitis but I'm not sure. It wouldn't have been in conjunction with 6mp though. I hope you get it sorted soon!!

Hello,
I had pancreatitis cause by aza and 6mp the blood test that could indicate this is causing a problem is amylase. It does sound like he has some of the symptoms of pancreatitis definatley would get it checked out, you don't sound like a crazy mother at all just worried about your son. I really hope he starts feeling better soon x

Hey LbM,

I don't think you could ever rule it out and as KM has suggested you would need them to test for pancreatic enzymes...amylase.
Also bear in mind that regardless of medication pancreatitis can be an extra intestinal manifestation of IBD.

As Dexky has said, Sarah did have pancreatitis but it was not drug induced.

Thinking of you!
Dusty. xxxxxxxx

Marcia, distended abd, pain, nausea, yet they said he has no inflammation??
SOMEthing is a disconnect there...he has something amiss. Tachy HR is a sign of distress in the body.

V's abd got quite distended during the six days on pred, it was just six days and she looked (gross) pregnant. So it MAY be from his pred use.
But it may be liver, pancreas, something else like Dusty's children had where labs did NOT reflect serious inflammation within...I'd push to have him assessed.

HUGS, hon. I know you're pretty near your tether's end.

Pancreatitis isn't nice. Had it. Was initially mis-diagnosed as possible pancreatic cancer. It created numerous pancreatitic cysts. Extremely painfull. The cysts felt like knife wounds, the pancreatitis (at its worst) like a grown man was standing on my rib cage. Later on it was determined that it was caused by Crohns... One way to alleviate it is to stop all food intake, and increase water intake. Stopping food means that your body doesn't utilize any enzymes to break it down... meantime the water is flushing you out. But it definitely is a thing to be investigated posthaste by doctor, specialist, etc,, etc..
If a cyst develops, and ruptures... well, the outcome can be extremely nasty, at least.
