I have a friend who gave me a bottle of Mona Vie active which is an antioxidant. Contains all kinds of berries and such. I have held off taking it because I had started so many other supplements, I didn't want to cloud the results. Anyway she is an LPN and has had and heard of people having great results with this. It seems to help a multitude of illnesses, mainly auto-immune type. She claims it has given her energy and it feeling much improvement from fibromyalgia and B12neuropathy. She said she doesn't take it at night because it keeps her awake. (Sounds like prednisone) Anyone else hear of this? Apparently it has become an occupation to sell this, that's what she is doing to make some extra pocket money.

yeah i am reluctant to sign on to any of those gigs. there are a few out there with the same theme. they are juices with loads of antioxidants, etc. that no doubt have to be good for you, but the fact that they are so expensive and are sold as a pyramid deal shies me away. i tried the mangosteen for a bit, but didn't really give it enough of a shot to see results. i went the more proven suppliments route first. but some people swear by these juices. another thing that makes me skeptical is i have not found one yet that lists how much of the actual magic ingredient is included (mangosteen, acai, etc.) and they always say its a "mix" of juices. seems like an easy way to hide the fact that there could be very little of it in there.

given that some people love it though, it cant hurt to try.

Your response intrigued me.......Mona Vie

Your response really intrigued me and I had to respond. Mona Vie is not a pyramid scheme and touching peoples lives everywhere! If you know what a pyramid is, then you'll understand why I say that. Research a pyramid scheme first and then research the Mona Vie compensation plan. I'll be happy to forward this information to you also, if you'd like.
I understand your concern with Mona Vie since there are so many multi level businesses out there these days, but Mona Vie is the 'real deal' and I can only attest to that because I have many people in my family and group of friends that have had tremendous experience already with their health thru this product, including my 68 year old father. We cannot make any claims but if you contact me I will be happy to share with you why and how this product is touching peoples lives. Keep in mind its loaded with antioxidats. If you understand the power of antioxidants, phytonutrients and how they affect the free radicals in our bodies, you will grow to respect this product which was created by a group of very well known and respected phycisians. The main Dr on the Mona Vie board is Dr Alex Schauss (leading researcher for teh Acai berry). Google it!
Besides, why someone with health issues would NOT try an all natural product with 19 fruits pureed with seed, peel, and all, is beyond my comprehension. We have been told all our lives that we need to eat fruits and vegetables but yet, some people will still ignore that fact. What Mona Vie has done is create a simple and convenient way to take your 7 servings of fruit on a daily basis, and the reason for the 'multi level' marketing is because # 1) that is the wave of the future, more and more people will be working from home. Companies save on over head, advertising etc. #2) Some companies (genius as they are) prefer to pay the distributor thru bonuses, commissions and such for their efforts of promoting the product and advertising thru word of mouth VS paying huge amounts of money for MASS media. #3) Its been proven to be the best way to get a good product out to market faster (especially one that works and is touching peoples lives and health.
I really have to run to an appointment now but your blog caught my eye. I urge you to please do your research first before bashing this product or company, because I have done mine and let me tell you...it is a life changing product and business opportunity. If you would like me to pass on some of my research, info, or chat with you more on the topic, please feel free to contact me at [email protected]. My websites are

Well, you have 1 total wall post, so i can't really take anyone seriously who just registered on the forum and starts advertising so quickly

Jak, I know for sure the reason they put a mix of juices with the mangosteen is because it's completely unbearable to drink without them. It STILL is pretty bad after they mix the juices to wear down the bitterness.

Sorry, but anecdotal info from someone who is marketing the stuff, or from one with no scientific or medical backing isn't the impartial type of evidence I'd need to invest in this. I particularly shy away from claims made by someone who just shows up raving to high heaven about a great product, then just disappears too

I tried the Acai and didn't terribly prefer it. I have been stable on mangosteen juice (Xango brand which uses the rind and the fruit, not just the fruit). Yes, Xango brand is set up as MLM and it disgusts me that it is. I would much rather pick it up at the grocery store in the juice aisle as a healthy alternative to grape juice or whatever. I haven't made any money off it and only referred my mom and her friend who have their own stories and improvements. Back to acai. . . The acai that I tried tasted worse, had a lot more seeds and pulp, and didn't offer me anything I could directly correlate. However, there are a lot of people who have seen good results from it. I am also aware of the above arguments that all this stuff is overpriced juice sold as an MLM and there can be no specific claims. So, this argument goes round and round. I do, though, think that some forms of juice fruit does have gut-soothing properties and since the one has soothed me, it's a good thing for ME. If acai or cranberry juice or aloe juice or whatnot seems to bring a benefit and soothe your intestines for whatever reason, then it's worth testing out with medical supervision and support and traditional meds on hand to pick up the pieces should it not work, stop working, etc. If anyone has any other questions or wants to talk more in depth about acai, mangosteen, or other forms of supplements, PM me and we can go from there. I've been around the block for awhile and certainly don't consider anything as a cure. A soothing and remission assistant maybe, but not a cure.

I think there are lots of natural juices who have antioxidant properties and can be done at home without paying for all those expensive stuff; and many of them have been scientifically proven to be very good for our health.

Some of the juices I do at home are: red grape juice, pomegranate juice and carrot juice (OK, this is a vegetable). I can usually tolerate them well, and sometimes dilute them in water if I'm not feeling very good.

Pomegranate juice sepcifically seems to have very good anti-cancer properties.

Yeah, I've also heard great things about blueberry juice... I used to love eating homemade blueberry pie, but too much, and I'd end up with the big 'D'. (pre dx).
I do drink a lot of pulp free orange juice with extra calcium that has no lactose (another product that is getting harder to find). And I regularly drink cranberry juice because it's great for the kidneys and the UT system. I occasionally drink V8 to get my veggies in a way my body will tolerate, but I'm not very fond of it.
