There is a new product made out of the fruit of a Cactus. It is supposed to be a super fruit. This juice is supposed to reduce inflammation in joints.
My knees and hips hurt so much. I can't sleep for more than 20 minutes at a time because of this pain. Unless I take an NSAID. which of course we all know is bad. I want to try it, but its kind of pricey. I am willing to buy it if it works. Has anyone tried it or know someone that has?

Unfortunately I have not tried these in hope to help joint pain. My only contact with it was a staining experience while eating it. It is great tasting and from it's color and I can only suppose it must be great cause really, they must be packed with anti-oxidant.

I've tried looking a bit on the internet. The only I encountered that could be interesting was someone complaining about the expensive price of the juice and that she used "Prickly Pear Extract with Aloe" instead with what seemed to be good result. I don't know if you came across that doing your research.

I only knew it was suppose to be good for diarrhea and guts inflammation. I guess it could be a wonder food for us!

Do you have prickly pear in your store? I've never found here but we sometime have different cactus so maybe you get them since some probably grow in texas or at the least mexico I would guess.

So I don't know if it could worth buying them and juicing them yourself rather than buying the juice cause they are filled with pit, I don't know if you could actually throw that in a juicer... :S I wonder...

I think the nickname for it is prickly pear. I am going to do more research on it, chances are I am going to buy it and see if it helps

Yep, If you never saw it, it is pretty much the size of a kiwi fruit and is generally bright fushia in color or orange-ish. At the very least I can affirm it taste really good but it stains like crazy so just be careful when manipulating them if you get them fresh. My moroccan friend had such a good time looking at us attempt to eat that when I was visiting. As it contains numerous seeds I did not know what to do with them and my crohn so I was spitting them out... funny scene at the lesat haha.

Let us know how it goes! Maybe a miracle thing to add to our daily habits!

There's an ethnic grocery store in my neighborhood that sells fresh cactus (not the juice, the actual prickly pear cactus itself) - I have bought it and eaten it a couple times, but I can't imagine that the juice tastes good. When you get cactus itself, you have to boil it like 3 times to get all the juices out. And when I say juices, I mean thick, sticky, icky tasting "sap" stuff that you're apparently not supposed to eat, at least according to the preparation instructions I was given. Once you get all the sap out then you can eat the cactus, but by then it doesn't have much flavor as everything's been boiled out of it. Because of all the work involved and the mild flavor you're left with, I'm not a big fan of cactus, and I never noticed any difference in my joints, guts etc when I did eat it. If you do get the juice, I would say don't expect it to taste good at the very least (unless they add a lot of sugar/artificial flavors)! And if there's any Hispanic/Mexican grocery stores near you, check to see if they carry the juice or if they have fresh cactus that you can prepare yourself. I actually got the fresh cactus at an Asian grocery store that has an aisle for Mexican foods. They sell it both with the spikes still on it and without. (It's a huge amount of work to get the spikes off, so buy it without spikes if you have that option!)

I tried pur aloe vera gel before cause people told me about it and it did seem to help me. I should try it again. It was awhile ago. Anyone else try it?
