Took my first picolax sachet at 8.00, stomachs blown up like a balloon, agony and am sweatin. I struggled taking the sachet, I brought up a mouthful after it but managing to keep the rest down. Gonna struggle today I think, feel so down already :(

Ugh, poor you. I can usually get it down if I sip it through a straw, and drink lots of water in between the sips. When is your scope?

You got this! You can do it! Remember once you're running clear (looks the same coming out as it did going in) you're done. I mix that stuff with a soda like Squirt or Sprite and then chase it with something else. I hate nasty tasting drinks. I understand the bloat though. I got so full that things just backed up and I threw up in the bathtub while on the toilet. Good times. Hang in there!

I managed to get it down, keeping it down was a struggle, just suffering the pain now. How long does it take to work? Colonoscopy is at 1pm tomorrow, just want it over and done with now xx

It varies from person to person, and I've had times where I've waited a whole day for some action and others where it's started working within a couple of hours. I usually get an ominous rumbling in my guts before it starts as a sure sign that I should be near a toilet! You are doing great, hang in there. Just think how good that tea and toast is going to be afterwards.

Yeah iv got that rumbling feeling already, hopefully it kicks in soon so I can get it over with. Oh I can't wait for a nice cup of tea and toast. My appointment isn't till the afternoon so will b a long wait. Dreading the sedation too, been a big worry to me for some reason. I heard the colonoscopy is easier that the endoscopy so hopefully that's true cause I managed the endoscopy with throat spray. I'm just focusing on hopefully getting a diagnosis xx

OMG you were awake for a endoscopy? There's no way I'd do that! My husband was also awake for his and my God does it ever sound like torture. Being awake for a colonoscopy will never be in the cards for me either. I always get sedated. I'm blanking on the name of the drugs they put in your IV but one relaxes you and the other makes you forget the whole procedure. Hope it goes well!

For me the prep takes at most 2 hours to start working. Hope you have some wet wipes! Regular TP feels like sand paper after your first few volleys.

Lol thanks iv got some wipes there so il keep that in mind. I was ok for the endoscopy, managed to pick a spot in the room and focus. Had a panic once or twice tho. Il definitely get sedated for the colonoscopy, just really scared of sedation but dunno y, that's y I stayed awake for the endoscopy xx

When I did my bowel prep, I was told that walking around can help move things along and decrease nausea and bloating. You don't feel like moving, but it helped me! (Of course it was mostly in circles around the bathroom.)

Yeah I pretty much walked back and forth from the couch to the bathroom. :p Eventually I just stayed on the toilet.

Luckily as the day went on it wasn't too bad. Was in pain at bedtime though lol. By 7pm it seemed as though my juice was going right through me so hopefully all will be ok for the scope today x

The sedation I had for the colonoscopy was fine, I found it alot easier than the waking endoscopy. I didn't actually go to sleep but just felt really floaty - a bit like being drunk and it was all over before I knew what had happened.
I remember watching the screen for a while in strange detached curiosity , before realising that was my insides and saying "errr" !

You will be fine. Good luck :)
