I am on day 35 of a constant headache. I have been to my family doctor twice and he gave me first a steroid dose pack and then an anti-depressant, but neither of these made any difference. The last time I saw my GI, I told him that I was having some tenderness in my right middle abdomen, and he said that I might be flaring. I've been in remission since a resection in March of 2012.

I'm wondering if the headaches are connected to flaring. Does anyone have headaches as a symptom when they are flaring? I have never had chronic headaches before. I have an ileostomy and my output is normal, but I have been having some aches and pains in my hips- where I have had arthritis when I am in a flare before, but this is not that bad.

Any thought, advice??

I find that when I'm flaring, I lay off the coffee, which I drink 2-3 cups a day when I'm not flaring. I finally figured out that when I had headaches that coincided with my bad days, it was a caffeine headache. So, I would take a couple Excedrin (which has caffeine in it) and almost immediately the headaches went away.

The only other times I have headaches are when I'm dehydrated, so I make sure to start focusing on water intake during these times.

Good luck. Headaches are so dreadful. I wish you the best.
