Heartburn

Ouch...I had some stomach pain this week...at least I hope thats what it is. And now omg! heartburn...Anybody get this? Is it crohns? Or dinner? :ywow::ywow:Sue

I got really bad stomach pains/heartburn when on higher doses of Pred. But (knock wood) I haven't had any issues in several months.

I always have heart burn, and when I flare, it gets so bad I cant handle it. Last time I was in the ER they gave me a GI cocktail.....the best stuff ever. Tasted really bad but numbed my entire throat and esophagus (sp?). I have to take perscription medication for the problem, talk to your doc for some meds....good luck~

Talk to your doctor about your symptoms (even just your GP). Both my sister and I who deal with Crohns have issues with heartburn and acid reflux.

Also many of the medication we take can cause heartburn as well.

I agree with Crabby , it is crohn's related and I know that the many times I was on pred, it caused a hiatus hernia...niice. I have to be careful of spices (cinnamon, mint) and eat smaller meals through out the day. If it continues, you may have to be on Nexium but try only for short time til it heals. Like pred, and some others, you need higher Calcium intake. Talk to you doctor ok?

Thanks I will...Its a bit better today....I hope it goes away...I will call Dr on Monday if it continues...I'd rather have some heartburn than crohns flare! Sue

I totally understand! I have been having bouts of acid reflux lately. Some days are better than others. I felt fine for a while, but it has been creeping up again these past couple days. I hope you are feeling better soon!

I have bad heart burn and acid reflux. Usually when I take Prilosec, a PPI, and sit up for an hour or so after I eat it's not bad.

I think I get heartburn, but how do you know for sure???

I always get like these really loud, painful burps that feel like they are coming from deep within my stomach. Sometimes I get like a chest pain with them too. I'm assuming this is heartburn....

Whatever it is, I get it all the time. Early in the morning before I've eaten anything even. I have no idea what causes it but I hate it!!! Its so embarrasing to have those burps.. Even if I keep my mouth closed and try to keep the burp trapped you can still hear it because it is so loud! I had someone ask me at work the other day "did you just burp?" AHHH! So embarrasing...

Sounds like acid reflux Emkat. I wouldn't be surprised if you had heartburn as well though. When I have heartburn, I feel pain in the center of my chest and sometimes there is burping along with it. The pain kind of pulsates slowly for me.

Hope that you re feeling better soon. I have had major problems with acid
reflux and continue to even though I'm on prilosec. I use the raised pillow at night and just try to cope. At one point it was so bad they thought it was a heart attack and I spent a day in the hospitial for observation.Hoping they can find a med that works. I'm on remicade and imuran.So far no help with the reflux
but I keep my hopes up.
