Just thought I would, share that it is super hot here in NC! Broke a heat record today. Thank God for AC. :thumleft:

I know, right? And the same temps forecasted thru next week. We will owe our souls to the electricity and water bills!

ahhh! I thought I moved away from the desert heat 3 years ago! lol It's hot here too. I think its like 102 or so? I remember when we lived out in 29 Palms California. it was aweful out there, just didn't expect it to get that hot here!!

Do you guys feel really bad when it gets this hot out? I have a hard time.

My stomach has been acting crazy this week especially. Several days in a row I will have d all day, then get a one day break. Then it starts again! The pain is the same. Weird. Oh and when its really hot I don't feel like eating. I think that is pretty common though.

It was about 100 here in Wisconsin yesterday and close to that today too, and it feels even warmer with the heat index thing. Yuck!! Manzy, yes, I also feel worse in high heat & humidity. My guts cramp up easily when it's hot and humid, so I have been staying indoors in the air conditioning as much as possible. And CLynn, I've had a headache for several days now too! It feels like a barometric pressure headaache so I'm sure it's related to this weather. I wish it'd cool off already, we're not used to it being this hot up here in WI!

We get that lovely humidity with ours too, which makes it even hotter, must be what ups your heat index as well. The heat, plus we are in what the weather forecasters are calling and "abnormal drought", but by next week it should move into "severe drought". Is WI doing well on rain?

No, we're in a drought too and haven't had rain for weeks! The grass is all yellow and my plants are dying - I didn't think you could kill a hosta, but even my hostas are shriveling up! And some of the trees are freaking out to the point that their leaves are turning brown and falling off like it's autumn, or maybe the trees are just dying, I don't know. I've been watering my poor little garden every day in an attempt to keep my tomatoes and carrots alive but it feels like a losing battle. We seriously need rain - the forecast isn't promising though, lots more high heat and only 20% chance of rain here and there. There's a burn ban in many cities here in southern WI - no burning and no fireworks allowed as the fire risk is just too high right now. It's getting kind of scary, we need rain!

Edited to clarify: I should say, no illegal fireworks. Legal fireworks - the boring ones like snaps, snakes, and sparklers - are still allowed, and apparently most cities around here are still planning on putting on firework shows, but those may still be cancelled if the fire risk remains great.

Sounds just like us here, Cat. Very scary. Watering our corn and tomatoes and flowers, but sheesh.....can't imagine the fires that will start with the illegal fireworks that people invariably shoot off at home...

CLynn, they still had our fireworks show here but kept the ban on all private fireworks except for things like snakes & sparklers. Apparently nobody in my neighborhood got that memo though as the sounds of firecrackers kept me up late last night! We STILL haven't gotten any rain and it's something like 103 degrees out right now, so miserable. My guts cramp up in heat & humidity, I think I already mentioned that. I went to the gym today and the air conditioning in there couldn't keep up - it's normally about 68 degrees in the gym but it was 74 in there today. I tried jogging but my guts would have none of it! Cramp city! I had to do yoga instead as cardio was just not happening. Not fun. I can't wait for this heat wave to be over!
