Hi there...I wonder if you guys can help???

I've been having various symptoms for years now (am 28...it's been going on since I was a teenager). I have severe stomach pains, nausea, extreme constipation/diarrhea, pains in my arms/legs and fatigue. Sometimes the symptoms are fine...sometimes they are really bad and over the past year I have had to take a lot of time off work.

I've also lost over a stone and a half without dieting and am now really strong antibiotics as I have fissures/absecesses in a rather awkward place!!

My GP is treating the fissures but is ignoring my other symptoms....does this sounds like crohn's??? Just really want to get a diagnosis so I can get on with my life but it's getting me really down at the moment :(

Hi Welcome to the forums,
I am not sure if those are crohn's symptoms but I would ask to be referred to a Gastro doctor rather than have my GP treating it. Some invasive testing is usually needed to get a Crohn's diagnosis, like a colonoscopy, small bowel follow through etc.

Take a look around there is an Undiagnosed club and lots of ideas on easing symptoms. Ask lots of questions if you want, nothing is off limits as we all suffer from rather hard to talk about symptoms.

I agree with nica if its something your concerned about ask for a referral to a gastro doc who will be able to answer your questions a lot better. Also if its not Crohns could be something else intestinally.
