hello my names craig

i was told i had crohns in july 2009 sinse then i have had sterods, azathioprine, inflexmav i strated the inflexmav about ayear ago was tacking that along with axathioprine that seem to put me in to rummsion till about 3 mouths ago when i was told the azathioprine was not working and there was sings of a inflmation again so now they are thinking off trying me on megatrexate that was a mouth ago ihave only just receved the drug last week but as im going on holiday to devon to see my parents for 10 days going on thursday this week they will not let me tack it till i come back the only problem is im getting worse from day to day does any one have any iders so i mite be able to enjoy my holiday with out to much pain and achlly spend the time on beach not in bed

Hi Craig and welcome! I'm so sorry that you're having trouble right now. I can understand why you're concerned about your vacation.

Other than speaking with your doctor and sharing your concerns, the other thought that comes to mind is to ask you about diet. You may want to check out our "Diet and Fitness" forum to see if you might be able to alter your diet in a manner that might calm things down enough for you to have an enjoyable vacation.

I would have to suggest talking with your doctor. He might have suggestions with your medication. Try to relax. I know that stress is my main trigger. And yes, it can be stressful to relax. And like David said, take a look at the foods you're eating. Hope you can enjoy your vacation.

Hi Fonzi and welcome! I am sorry you are not feeling well. Would it be possible to have your doctor prescribe you some steroids to help with the inflammation quickly, so you could enjoy your vacation?

i agree with jill ask your doctor about putting on a course of preds for awhile till you get back from your vacation and see how things are going. i know what your going through i had to cancel my camping trip for a week and currently is on preds for 4 weeks hopefully that will do the trick. best wishes
