Help? Double dose of Aza

DS takes 25mg of Aza every other day, alternating with 50mg. Last night he took his 50mg does as scheduled, but his morning accidentally took his 25mg dose thinking it was his allergy pill. So, essentially took his dose 12 hours early. Are we in trouble? Do we skip tonight's dose? We are not home and our schedule is so messed up.

Call the on call Gi I am sure they can give you guidance.

For the future - pill boxes with am /pm fir the week really help with this

More than likely they will tell you not to take a dose this evening but not a doc so
You really need to talk to yours about dose changes and meds

That's the kicker. He does have an AM/PM pill box - just like his grandma and grandpa who we are staying with right now. Funny, huh? The three of them have their pill boxes all lined up on the kitchen table.

I left a message with the on call GI, but we only have sketchy cell service in northern WI here. It's been five hours and DS seems fine... fingers crossed. I'm not a fan of the alternating dose, but he's in the therapeutic range.

The pill box comment made me chuckle! I just bought A a pill box too so she could be more independent with her meds. Hubby made me promise to find one that "didn't look like an old person's"! Haha!

I think I paid around $5 for it at Publix. When I decide to replace it I'll look for one with AM/PM boxes. I do like how you can pop each day out with this one so we don't have to take the whole thing with us if we'll be out for the day. That's a must for our new one too!

Have you look at trying to get 25mg tablets?

Sarah takes 50mg x 2 & 25mg x 1 per day. Much better than trying to remember which day.

I did ask about 25mg tablets, but the pharmacist said they don't make them in that size. Maybe just not in the US? Or maybe our pharmacy just can't get them? I asked at Walgreens and at the hospital pharmacy. Nada.

I'm kicking myself missing out on the pill organizers that CCFA had for free at the Take Steps walk. Built in timer and everything. Of course that wouldn't have prevented DS's brain fart this morning... that's what happens when mom sleeps in on a Saturday morning.

Only 50 mg in the US as far as I know .
I had to cut DS 's into 1/4 when he was on 6-mp

Check his one out! Doesn't have AM/PM though... maybe DS could "modify" it just like he does with every single Lego set he's ever owned .

Probably too late to this.

As mlp has said, contact the GI if possible.

Personally I don't think it will be a problem and I would skip the dose tonight and resume as usual tomorrow.
