Hello.

My son has Hydradenitis Supurrativa and he is going to use an alternative treatment I use to try rid himself of it.

I need help finding every pathogen ever associated with the disease. I know some of them, but there are lots of studies and anecdotal info out there and I don't want to miss anything.

If anyone runs across something can you give me a link to it?

It will take me some time to set this up, but since he really has no other options, I am hoping we can figure this out. He is loaded with sores and in pain much of the time.

While this is not an HS forum, it is sometimes part of Crohn's. There are plenty of good researchers here, that's why I am posting this here.

Thank you.

Dan

I'm not familiar but moved this to EIM skin section and hope you will have better feedback here. There are some threads on the forum if you do a search.

I'm sorry to hear that your son has this. :( One of my friends does as well, and hers has been very severe. I know it isn't an alternative treatment, but for my friend it's gotten completely under control within the first infusion of Remicade she received, to the point where the fistulas she developed from it even healed and closed.

I'll ask her if she knows anything about the pathogens involved.

He might have to use something like Remicade to heal up. I was not aware that was an option. Still would like to find the source of the disease, but I certainly don't know if I can, or if it can be resolved that way.

Thanks for the info.

Dan

It is, yes. I've also used Humira and Remicade to treat my own fistula. Unfortunately I don't think there's too many options out there outside of biologics currently, but they're very effective.

How accessible are medical publications for you D_Bergy? General access through the web or do you have access to some med journals or what not?
