Hey guys my doctors have given me Fortisp drinks but omg they taste rank !
I'm unable to keep any food down as when I eat it its up in seconds
I'm currently taking omeprazole40mg &domperidone 40mgs a day to try and help me to keep things downs but after 4 months its not going well :confused2:

I can't eat anyyhink with gluten wheat or dairy in and still haven't been DX after 4 years and I'm just getting worst
I want to be able to build up my energy without getting sick all the time
If any one can give me some recipes it would be a great help
Thanks guys
:ghug:

Kiki you posted a few days ago that you couldn't keep food down. Have you discussed going on IV nutrition with your doctor? Maybe your bowels need a few days of rest and anything will aggravate them right now.

What's a iv nutrition ?
See I want to be able too build my stregnht upnssnive got anopartion in two weeks that I really need to have you see

Hey Kiki,

Which of the Nutricia Fortisip drinks have you got? For Crohn's patients I think any but the neutral ones can't be stomached.

If you got the neutral ones, my tip would be to put them into the frigde one time and try if it helps if they are cold when you drink them. Secondly you need to drink them very slowly even if the taste isn't that good. A sip at a time over an hour at least, if you got problems with them. It's also good if you drink cold water and the Fortisip alternatively.

In any event, I could not drink more than 2-3 per day myself either. That means you may try a few other porridge style things in addition to get your 2000kcal minimum in total. In bad flare ups I cold still stomach polenta (but made with more water than usual), semolina porridge and oats porridge (but you said you can't stomach that). Other than that, pealed cooked apple quarters with very little sugar added? Rice and lightly cooked chicken, but if you got that big problems keeping anything down, that might not work.

Hope that helps a bit. All the best to you, Kiki.

Gatorade or banana juice... Coconut water
All keep you hydrated and restore electrolytes

I remembered too green apple juice is great source for Iron

Feel better xx

Hi Kiki I am on day 10 on elemental 028 extra drinks I was really worried they would be rank but they are fine like a slightly weird milk shake or frozen yoghurt if you stick them in the freezer, I think they improved them, my only problem was the GP did not want to prescribe despite the dietician advice because they cost a fiver a time so £500 for a months worth and I drank them too fast yesterday rushing to work and gave myself really bad cramps enough to take me to A&E. today I am sipping them slowly with water added  so far all fine again. Good luck with it all.

I've had them in the frigde and freezer there just so boring I've got the orange and banna ones
It takes me a 2 days to drink one and I was given a load of them ,
Alex I have the ones to give nutrition as I havnt eaten a meal since last year July
I'm just sick of them tbh
Every think I try its up
I've drank some fortsip today and only had a wee bit
Like my GI at the hospital I'm at is not very helpful and my doctors is worse
I just wanna get my strength up for my operation in two weeks and I'm going on holiday in 2 months so I really wanna be better
I'm gonna try the fortsip again but thanks for everyone's advice
X
