After several months of unknown gastro issues, I had a Dr order some labs from Prometheus IBD sgi Diagnostic.
The result came back as "Pattern Consistent with IBD". "Ulcerative Colitis".
So, now I have a GI Dr. (the one I went to for a second opinion) giving a diagnosis based solely on this lab.
I've had x-rays done (clear), I've had a abdominal CT Scan done (normal), abdominal ultrasound (normal), abdominal MRI (normal), EGD (clear, nothing wrong), colonscopy (clear, not even any irritation), Gastric Emptying Study (normal) and Small Bowel Follow Thru (normal).
I spoke with the first GI Dr - the one who did the EGD and Colonscopy and shared these labs with him - he swears up and down that there is no way that I have Ulcerative Colitis.
After reading up on the symptoms of Ulcerative Colitis, I tend to agree with the first GI Dr - the one who actually saw my stomach, intestine & colon - I don't think I have UC either....my symptoms don't match up...In the beginning of all this, I did have some dry heaves, vomiting, loss of appetite and weight loss but that's about the extent of what my symptoms had in common with UC. I have never had diarhea or bloody diarhea.
My symptoms all started 2.5 weeks after an appendectomy.
My sympoms have recently changed (for the better). My current issue is mainly pain in the area of the appendectomy and the timing and texture of my stools...Most of the other GI issues have diminshed or gone away.
Help in figure out where these lab results are coming from would be appreciated.
