Hi Everyone

I just wondered if any of you that suffer with chrohns get pain around your liver area that radiates around to your back. The reason I am asking is the fact that I am still undiagnosed, the pain is getting worse and the weight is just falling off of me, but still the doctors do not seem interested.:sign0085:

Teejay- I was just wondering if you've had your gallbladder checked.
Gallbladder problems can cause pain to wrap around the back. TRUST ME!

Teejay,
Which side is your pain on, because I get that same exact pain on my left side and it lasts for weeks sometimes? I really believe it is crohn's related. Other's on the forum have discussed it too.Let me know. Teresa:redface:

Hi Teresa

It is on my right side, it never goes away and has been being investigated for several years, I have all the symptons of chrohns disease but because my tests have come back negative they do not want to diagnose it as that.

I am now losing weight at an incredible pace which is also a sympton, I have another MRI Scan booked for the 3rd September but I am chasing that up as I am the one suffering here not the doctors.

Thanks for your reply

I would almost bet it is crohn's. Many people that have it don't show on tests. It can be hiding out like mine did for years. I was finally diagnosed a year ago. I hope they find something on your MRI. But, there is a new scan that shows the inside of the small intestine. If it is available to you where you live, you should ask about it. God bless! Hope you feel better soon. Teresa:thumleft:

Hi Teresa

Thanks again for your reply. How many years did you go undiagnosed? I have had the capsule endoscopy done about 4/5 years ago. I also have bacterial overgrowth, is that common along with chrohns?:)

Yes, from what I hear it is. Take the good probiotics everyday and that helps get rid of it. Taking antibiotics really does damage and causes alot of bad bacteria. You have to counteract it. Eat lots of saurkraut and kimchi a chinese cabbage have alot too.
I have had crohn's in my opinion for 20 some years. Just never went to get checked. Thought it was nerves because my whole life was living with stress (alcoholic husband). Then my kids got hooked on heroin. My husband committed suicide too, so you see I was under constant stress. Diarrehea was almost constant. Now I am happily married and my kids are doing much better and I am still here with the crohns. But, I did have a nice period of remission and hope to again soon. God bless! Teresa P.S. Dr's told me all those years it was just irratable bowel syndrome.

I actually think thats what they diagnose everyone with first is IBS I have been diagnosed with that too. I am so pleased you have an easier life now, you sound like you have really been through it.

Hope the chrohns is not too bad at the moment. Thanks for getting back to me:)

Teejay-

I had the same thing happen. From the time I was 12 until I was about 24 I was undiagnosed and the tests were inconclusive. My doctors guessed it was IBS or Crohn's, but weren't really sure.

I had pain on the right side that did wrap around to my back at times, but it just kind of evolved that way and because I was constipated all the time I was used to uncomfortable pains in my gut. Two years ago I had a blockage (in June), that turned into an abscess (July), that perferrated (August) and I had to have emergency surgery.

If I were you, I would go to another GI ASAP. Make sure you make them listen to you. There's a lot of people on here that went a long time without being diagnosed!

I hope you feel better soon!

Take care!

Hi Teach28

Thanks for your reply, I just do not know how these people get away with making people suffer. A lot of the problem is aswell is that some doctors don't like to be proved wrong, I do not care who is wrong or right but all I am asking for is a diagnosis. The longer chrohns is left untreated the more damage it is doing, hence that is why everytime I get a flare up it is worse than the last one.

Hope you are well at the moment. Thanks again Teejay
