Hemorrhoidectomy

I had a hemorrhoidectomy and am in severe pain. Sitting is incredibly painful and the pain prevents me from sleeping. The pain meds upset my stomach, which causes more pain at the surgical site. How long does it take to feel somewhat better? not sure how long i can take the excruciating pain. :sign0085:

When did you get it done? Sorry to say, but hemorrhoidectomies are notoriously painful...

What analgesic are you taking? Some people find that switching their pain relievers around helps with the stomach issues. Just be wary of constipation...

Something I read online once mentioned someone taking Xanax to help them sleep. Have you considered this? I'm sure your doctor would give it to you if you explained your situation. I mean, like any kind of meds, it can probably cause constipation. But I don't think it's as constipating/nauseating as a narcotic.
