Hey guys,

After watching Rick Simpsons "Run From the Cure" on Youtube, and the video from Shona Banda regarding Hemp Oil and Crohn's disease (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4cQrT0sDxyc), I decided to go on a 2 month stint of trying oil.

I got the oil from a very trustworthy source, and purchased an "indica" strain (looked like clear honey) and a "sativa" strain (darker, almost a green color). It was in 2 small vials.

Unfortunately, I have had very limited to no success with these oils. Each vial lasted me 1 month. I would take 1 drop a night before bed. I would wake up extremely thirsty in the middle of the night, and would feel very tired the next day. A lot of the time I would see visuals in the middle of the night, and wouldn't be able to fall asleep because it affected me like this. Once particular night I even woke up my girlfriend, rambling about the Big Bang and had what best could be described as an out of body experience and I had trouble remembering things from moment to moment. I scared the heck out of her. She smokes the same oil and never has these sorts of effects.

So unfortunately, I would say that oil did NOT work for me. I thought 2 months would be enough of a gauge, but my most recent ultrasound that I had yesterday (Feb 21 2012) showed no change in the thickness of my intestines since December of 2011 when I had my small bowel follow through. Has anyone had any success with taking the oil in the same manner? A drop on the tongue?

I'm sorry it didn't work for you but I appreciate that you reported back with your results. I hope you find something that has better results.

Big problem with Simpson Oil is that it's just a concentrate of what is in the raw cannabis (with the exception of some of the more volatile turpenes such as ß-caryophyllene which boils off at 119C and which may have some anti-inflammatory effects). You really need something high in CBDs for Crohn's, while most cannabis is being grown for the THC. Ergo, try to find a tested plant and use for RSO (or otherwise).

The REAL solution for those who want to try this route (and I really don't know why anyone would not want to first try one of the only completely non-toxic medicines before high risk/high side effect pharmas) - according to my current understanding - is to be able to juice cannabis. You get large quantities of all of those phytocannabinoids & turpenes & flavonoids simply because you can consume LOTS more cannabis without getting psychoactive effects (since most of the THC is found as THCA). PLUS PLUS it seems that the THCA & CBDA acid forms may also have some major anti-inflammatory effects (most research so far has been on decarboxylated THC & CBD). Unfortunately, in most medical cannabis states one cannot legally grow enough for juicing (looks like the forum is putting in its own link for "juicing".)

Anyway, check out this youtube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgEP9FdIzT8

Thats great info zdub!! I would love to try that out, but as soon as you have 30 plants of cannabis, suddenly you've got a grow op. I'm in Canada. Everything is more lax, but even for medical use, I would definitely go to jail if I had that much cannabis growing in my home. The Rick Simpson way was only 1 tiny vial of oil. It's too bad it didn't work for me. Not too sure what to do now, but if it ever becomes legal in Canada, I'll be the first person on board to start growing the plant myself.
