Heparin to treat IBD

Crohn's Disease Forum

Help Support Crohn's Disease Forum:

There is a lot out there about how IBD patients have a higher chance of developing blood clots. There is also some evidence that poor circulation to the intestine due to clotting or vasculitis could actually be the cause of IBD.

I've seen a few studies on the use of heparin to treat the clotting in IBD, and also a couple of studies on the use of heparin to actually treat the IBD symptoms. In one study, they had dramatic results, especially in UC patients. I'm curious if anyone has had any personal experience.
