Hey did you know fish oil causes brusing?

I have been noticing easy brusing. Just had blood work done last month everything was fine. But I looked it up and it said easy brusing is a side affect of fish oil. Just to let anyone know who may have this problem.

I have not heard this before, but it kind of makes sense. Similar to a prescription blood thinner, Fish Oil makes the blood more slippery, for lack of a better word. So if blood vessels are broken, it would allow more blood to pool into the area.

FYI - The prep instructions for my last scope included discontinuing Fish Oil for a few days before the procedure. I guess anything that is like a blood thinner should be d/c before a scope as a precaution.

Interesting, Amy! I'll have to keep that in mind before my next scope (whenever that may be).
