Hey guys! I'm new to the site and just introducing myself. My names Jordan and I'm currently 17 years old attending University! I was diagnosed with Crohns in the small bowel when i was 16, although prior incidents (fistula) cause my doctor to beleive that I have had Crohn's since I was 12! Also I am studying in the Faculty of Engineering at University and am worried what the future holds for me in regards to being in such a stressful academic field (five years of hard and plentiful work). I know stress is bad for my disease so I try to not get too worked up over school. Engineering is a good career as long as it doesnt kill you!

Hey there Jordan and welcome to the community :)

I can certainly understand your concerns. I know if I tried for engineering my head would explode within a couple days so I can't imagine what it would do to my gut.

What medications are you on? How are you currently feeling? Other than meds, are you doing anything to control your disease?

Again, welcome!

Hey guys! Sorry for the late response I've had a long weekend of studying :( hahah. But im currently on Pentasa 500mg (two pills, three times daily) which is what ive been on since my diagnosis. I have to say I feel great! Much better than before my diagnosis. Also to control my disease i simply don't drink alcohol, eat anything greasy, and if anything causes my symptoms to flare I just learn to avoid whatever it was that caused the flare. I also love to excercise and take great care of my body, which is even more important when you have a disease like ours!
