Hello from Sydney Australia!!

Just came across this website so thought I would have a look.

I am amazed at how many people are living with Crohn’s like myself and how supportive everyone is! It’s so nice to see!!

I am 25 years old and have had crohn’s for 8 year! Been in hospital quite a few times over these years and only got out 3 weeks ago from a recent flare up!

Currently on Salofalk Granuals twice a day but these don’t seem to be working.

Have been on Prednisone and imuran before but now only the granuals.

My main problem is getting abscess and going to the bathroom and I am at the point where I don’t know what else to do and if I should be getting other onions asI can’t keep worrying always where the nearest bathroom is!!!

I have been to see a naturopath and she said it doesn’t seem to be what I’m eating so not sure where to go from here!!!

Anyways just wanted to say hello and think it’s great you have this website!!!

Hi sim85,
Welcome, sorry to hear you have had a bad time lately!!
I'm sure you will find a lot of good advice and support here.

G'Day!

Surprised the naturopath said that. Usually they try to hustle you by selling you a bunch of expensive supplements/treatment regimens.

Crohn's diets are by Trial and Error. No two patients are alike and it is uncumbent on yourself to sort out the foods that bother you.

Good luck and glad to have you with us.

Hi Sim and welcome to the forum. I also live in NSW but out in the sticks, Roo goes to uni in Sydney though. Glad you could join us.

Hi Sim
and welcome

glad you found us too! loads of info on diet and treatment so have a scoot round. sorry can't help you with abcesses but someone will and from what I have read, the biologics like Remi and Humira are good for healing them, there are Club threads on them too!
see you around, enjoy!
lotsa luv

Hello down under lol! Welcome, as some pointed out Humira and Remicade does help abcesses, the Remicade thread has lots of info. Yes, this site is amazing, been here two years and I still learn alot here. Hope you join us!

Welcome Sim85,

Glad you can join us. Crohn's disease is nothing simple to treat, and no remedies/controls seem to work the same for everyone.

Sorry you're having a rough go of it.

There's lots of good experience here. Check out the TREATMENT forum and FOOD AND DIET forum. Lots of great info.

Start a new thread or respond to any that are here.

In other words, jump into the pool...the water's fine!

Welcome Sim85...

Seems to be lots of Aussies here. I had a friend I met in the military that was from Australia. Cool guy, wish I had never lost touch with him. Anyway, welcome to the board and good luck with your Crohn's.

I never meant to imply that you aren't cool Sim. I don't know what Dusty is talking about.

Hi Sim and welcome
This is a great place to be you, there is so much interesting information and threads out there. I can't claim to be Aussie, I am across the ditch in NZ Kiwi land. See you in some thread discussions.
